Scott, Carly, and their son Lucas chose the most meaningful place for their family photos, their own property in Orland, Indiana, where they’ll soon build their dream barndominium. Surrounded by open fields, golden light, and a quiet pond, it was the perfect spot for a relaxed, heartfelt session celebrating where life is now and all that’s ahead.


As a Northeast Indiana family photographer, I love sessions like this where every image feels rooted in place and purpose. It had been a few years since the Yesh family had portraits taken, just the three of them (plus their two dogs, Smoke and Kimber!), and this evening was all about slowing down, walking their land, and capturing what home really means.

A Family Session That’s All About Home


Photographing families on land that holds their future is always something special. The Yesh family’s Orland, Indiana property is where they’ll build their home, so it felt extra meaningful to capture their family photos there.


We walked the property as the sun set, the dogs exploring nearby and the pond catching the light just right. One of my favorite parts of the session was when they pulled out their home blueprints, a glimpse of what’s to come, and looked out over the space that will soon become their home.
